I am going back to my cave until my eyes can handle the light of day or when the Crosby/Malkin Man love/crush fest is over.... Which ever happens first....  On other news there will be an expansion draft fot the 2012-2013 season.  4 teams means losing 4 players.  The cities are K.C., Las Vegas, Seattle, adn Toronto.

Last night I had another wierd dream .  A very vivid dream, it almost seemed real.  First I was back working at 3 Dimensional Services, as a CNC operator.  I could hear the machines running, the cutters chewing away metal.  I was able to smell the coolant and oil, feel the chips hitting my skin.  I was working for Biff as well as CNC.  It was very scary at that point because I haven't been back there in a long time.

Later on in the dream I was at a party store with Rome.  I could clearly see all of the faces of the customers coming and going, I did not know who they were.  The sound of the cash register and Lotto machines, the sounds of the coolers, the smell of pizza.  At this party store how ever you were allowed to sample any beverage before you purchased it.  That was the rule you had to try it before you could leave with it.  Rome and I tried different beers, wines, and booze.

What was strange is that Rome tried alot of booze, what was scary is that he bought a 24 of Bud Lite!?  And he insisted that he wanted it because it tasted good.  He fought me on the purchase, even after I told him that I would buy him his beer.  I offered Stella, Sam Adams, Killians, Labbatts, Lieni's, Smith Wicks, Kirin,.........  "No I want Bud Lite!" is all he said.

That's when I woke up.  I know that he would rather thirst than to stomach Bud Lite, how ever that did not bring me back from my dream

I have been watching ALOT of hockey now that the play offs are in full swing. Granted Erik can now tell between the teams and, Analise is just happy that there is Hockey!  So how has the match ups gone thus far?

In the East:
The Pens have a 2-0 game lead over Philly.  Some intensity in the match up, not any thing to write home about.

It's a 1-1 tie for New Jersey and Carolina, typical east coast hockey.  I am not excited by this match either.

Here's a surprise, The Rangers lead The Caps 1-0.  I am expecting alot out of Washington and AO (Alexander Ovechkin)  the real face of the game.

And my Blood Match of this round, Boston has a 1-0 advantage over Montreal.  No other team has met more in professional sports during a play off series, 36 times as of now.  There will be blood, THIS is the rivalry that the NHL should be playing up!

To the West!  All matches can be described as fast, hard hitting, and fun!

Even though Chicago has a 1-0 lead over Calgary, the Black Hawks should not rest yet.  The Flames have given a fantastic show and will not go gentle into that golf cart.  I expect this series to burn thru all 7 games.

The Canucks have a 2-0 lead over St. Louis. and it is well earned.  The Blues are hungry and want retribution, a chance to finally silence their critics.  Hi levels of passion and intensity on both sides have made it a pleasure to watch.

The last time The Sharks and The Ducks met there were 70 minutes in penalties handed out.  That was regular season, this is play offs.  Anaheim has a 1-0 lead over San Jose, a potential Dark horse here folks.  This has been the fastest pace match up so far, REAL FAST!   Not to mention the cleanest and disciplined type of play.  If you miss this match you have missed the best one that I have seen in a long time.

And finally, Detroit is up 1-0 on Columbus.  The Blue Jackets have the size, hunger, and direction of Ken Hitchcock.  The wings how ever have speed, experience, and leadership.  Some pundits will say that Detroit still too old, I don't buy that any more.  One thing to remember in life never bet against Detroit.

So last Monday when there was gloppy snow the wind shield arm on the driver side of the truck broke.  It is not just a replacement of the arm but also of the Transmission Assembly underneath the wind shield.  So with better weather today I started to tackle the problem.... Only it hit back, twice.

I now have a nice 1/2 inch gash in my hair line and a head ache that Dick Cheney would be proud of.  I did call the dealership first, just to see how much it would be.  $ 345 for parts and labor.  The part I need is $125, the parts counter guy tried to up sell me to getting a new motor with the trans at $120.  I know that the motor is still good so no sale there.

Now I just need a deck of cards and we're playin' Canasta

No work as of yet, been busy with school and kids. Also watched the complete Senate and House hearings for the Detroit 3. Life is a little unstable for now. I am hoping to take a few state cert tests in the near future. These are good and cheap pre-tests for ASE, which can lead to better job prospects. As for the school update, Starting and Charging is a lock. Fuel Systems is not a guaranteed pass but, not all is lost. Hybrid systems has been a MEAT GRINDER!!!! I just hope to catch a California favor in this one. Ignitions has been fun and informative, I am shooting for an ace but, locked a pass. Small Engines has been an expensive class, will gladly take a pass.

This past week end I knocked out a lay off project, getting a new light fixture up in the dining room. Just a suggestion to any one wanting to try this at home.... You will need a dust mask, flash light, old clothes, a shop vacuum, dry wall experience, and last but not least the wire fish or fish tape. Rome, I owe you at least E=mc2 for that one.

Kevin has made it official. He has retired from active playing status until further notice. He and his wife are expecting twins in the new year. He wanted to be available full time for his family and has stated that coaching is still a consideration in the future.

Speech therapy has been paying off for Erik, who will be glad to tell you about construction cones, Happy Birthday Momma, NO, and more than I have time to tell. Ana has also benefited from the experience and has attended her first Tea Party this past week end.

I have always looked forward to the first snow of the year. So does Erik, he loved seeing the snow yesterday. He loves the snow as much as me, I hope he can still look forward to it when he starts to drive. I made the first snow ball for Erik, and he knew what to do, maybe I should have waited until we were outside first before handing it to him.

I love the smell of winter, a crisp cold smell. The way the night sky looks when it snows, a kind of purple, black, and brown. I do love the sound of shovels and snow blowers in the distance as that perpetual march of winter begins again.

Speaking of which, I have a request of sorts. IF you have or know any one who is having trouble with their snow thrower/blower, please let me know. I have been studying small engines this semester and will be quite reasonable with labor prices. If you are throwing away that old junker of a snow thrower keep me in mind. I want to play Dr. Frankenstein with your old equipment.

Who knows, I just might save you from buying a new piece of equipment.

My Dad was a Combat Engineer in the Vietnam War. He DOES NOT talk about it too much but, when he does he IS E.F. Hutton. And I try to listen, any literature I have found either glossed over the Vietnam Conflict or took the Jane Fonda stance. I just want to say thank you to my Dad, every one else who has served in the armed forces, and to those who put thier lives on the line to make our lives safe.

So the next winter classic is in Chicago's Wrigley field. The Black Hawks play host to the Red Wings on New Year's day 2009 at 1 p.m. EST. I would entertain a day trip out, I still need to talk to Angie.

Also This years NHL entry draft will be held in Montreal, Quebec Canada. Festivities to start at 5 p.m. June 26 and 27 2009. The boys and girl of The Face Off Hockey Show faceoffhockeyshow.com have been to the past 7 drafts and have ALWAYS had a good time. Now that the Toronto Maple Leafs have signed Defense man Jeff Finger and, the Leafs are always the head liner in this area on Hockey Night In Canada... How long before either Bob Cole or Harry Neil slap themselves in the mouth announcing "Finger in the box for 2 minutes for hooking, high sticking, spearing....."

I am sooo easily amused.

OH hotness

Over the week end Angie and I caught up with a story on CBC News Sunday. It was about a brawl during a play off game in the QJMHL. The Quebec Remparts and the Chicoutimi Sagueneens had squared off last Saturday.

I watched the video on youtube and did not see what sparked the brawl (aside from the Chicountimi being up 7-1). The high light was watching Remparts goaltender Jonathan Roy (Son of Patrick Roy Coach of the Remparts) barrel down ice, shaking off a ref and then beating goaltender Bobby Nadeau silly.

Nadeau clearly showed no intention of fighting, and should have been left alone. It is a lesson in life as well as hockey if no one is ringing the bell, why answer? There is always a time and a place for every thing. Roy should have known that.

Now we all know that I do not want to see fighting banned. How ever in instances such as this I would not object to lengthy suspensions or all out banishment. Jonathan Roy's actions were deplorable. Daddy did not help matters much either. At the end of the day both Father and son were suspended up to 7 games, and fined $500.
